Cecilia Uitermark for RASA CAO

Can you introduce yourself?

I am Cecilia Uitermark, and I am in my fourth semester right now. I am a history, psychology, and political sciences major. I am from Amsterdam, and I am 20 years old.

What position are you running for?

I am running for RASA CAO.

Why are you running for this position?

I very much like the social aspect of RASA, and the events that the different committees are organizing. Elliott is more like running a business, which is not so much something for me. HAC, housing, is also not very much of my interests. The same with AAC – I like academics, but wouldn’t really want to take that outside of the classroom. Being a part of RASA, and organizing intro week and all the events is something that I’m really passionate about.

I have doubted between secretary and CAO for a while, but I chose for CAO eventually because I think I would enjoy working with societies a lot. I have been quite active this year, so I know what it is like to be in a committee. I think that it would be very nice to use that knowledge to work with the societies and to help them get the best out of their events.

Why should people vote for you specifically?

I am currently secretary for PUMA, and have organized multiple events so far. I have been crash officer of the Roosevelt Open, which was a big tournament in itself, and called for a lot of organizational work – that was quite a learning experience. I have been secretary for PoLaw, and I have been a part of the Christmas Market team. I am quite experienced, and I would like to use that experience to see what can be changed and what can be improved. I am very approachable, and very motivated, and I think that that makes me very suitable for the CAO position.

What superpower would you most like to have, and why?

That’s difficult…there are multiple I would like to have, but I guess I’d choose the ability to speak all languages. That would be pretty cool to have; I think it would be amazing to be able to communicate with everyone without having to go through the difficulty of learning all of these new languages.
