Floranne for RASA CAO

By Calin Marginean

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Floranne Boulogne, I am in my second semester and I am running for RASA CAO. I am majoring in pre-med and at the same time I am interested in psychology, which is why I am currently joining Medaffairs, while also partaking in events organised by PsyCo. Next to that I like to be social: I bartend in Elliott once a week in the mensa. I also really like ballroom dancing and I am part of the THEATRA spring play.

Why are you running for RASA CAO?

I am running for CAO because the person who occupies this position is in the middle of the societies and knows what is going on between the various board members. The CAO acts as a representative for the societies, settles disputes between board members and represents all the RASA students.  The CAO also has to be a responsible and organized person.

What are the qualities that would make you suitable for this position?

The first thing is that I am really good at listening to people. I also do not have a great need for attention. Thus, I can understand what people want or need so I can help the boards of the various societies to turn great ideas into concrete ideas, and represent them to the RASA board. I am also good at brainstorming with other people and because of that,I can create great ideas. I do not know what changes I would make, but my brainstorming skills will ensure that such ideas would come automatically.

Why did you decide to run for CAO in your first year at UCR?

In my third year I will probably be very busy with 300 level courses and applying for master programmes. Therefore I can focus better on RASA in my second than in my third year.

What can you tell us about your past experience?

I have been in the board of the theatre society in high school. I have not been in a board at UCR yet, because I wanted to find out what RASA and UCR offer first, before committing to a board.

Are you exited for the upcoming elections and for the possible position of CAO?

Yes, I am very exited for both. I am very exited for the elections because I like the idea that I could become CAO, and I have put my mind to partaking in the competition. Of course, I am very excited on the prospect of possibly becoming CAO.
