Bram Medelli is a 2nd semester student running for HAC treasurer. When he moved to UCR, Bram got assigned a room in Hof van Sint Pieter. Halfway through the semester he was told that we would have to move out, which left him confused and unsure what to do. He contacted HAC, and with their excellent help they worked it out. Now, Bram would like to give back to the community in a similar way.
What is he running for, and why?
Bram is running for Treasurer, a position in which he has some experience. He currently holds the position of treasurer in the summer trip team, which has given him experience in handling money and working with Excel. Bram is already very involved in the UCR community. He is an actor in CampusNews, holds a position in the PartyCo board, joined the Summer Trip Team and is a RAW editor. He wishes to give back to the UCR student community by helping out new students who are unsure about their housing situation, or who have any other problems.
What are some ideas or changes he has in mind?
One of the ideas that Bram mentioned is that he wants to encourage house- and floor elders to actually spend the budget allocated to them, and use it to bring the hallway or house together, for instance through hallway dinner or breakfast. Furthermore, he would like to see a first aid kit and fire extinguisher in every house, in order to improve the students’ safety on campus.
He would like to make HAC a more apparent and lively board, and hopes to do so by bringing in his working spirit and enthusiasm.
