Pro choice
Women’s right groups in Poland have been protesting a new law, which would make abortions illegal in most cases. Backed up by the church, the polish government wants to introduce jail sentences up to five years for causing “the death of a conceived child”. Only in cases of a life-threatening pregnancy it would be legal to abort. Read more about it here.
Boko Haram on the move
In a series of attacks, boko haram has gone on a killing spree. In a period of several hours, there were three attacks, killing 16 and injuring many more. Want to read more? Click here.

Crumbling from the inside?
In the heart of the I.S caliphate, the Iraqi city of Mosul, signs of rebellion and panic have begun to spread. Graffiti has been appearing on walls, calling for resistance. Even though the men held accountable were swiftly executed, it does appear that rebellion is growing. Read more about it here.
Protests after Charlotte shooting
A state of emergency has been declared in Charlotte, North Carolina. Two nights of protests follows the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, who is the third victim of fatal police shootings in the last week. Want to read more about this? Click here.
Pragmatic vs. Catastrophe
A number of large newspapers have taken a public stance on the upcoming American elections. An editorial in the Los Angeles Times makes the comparison between Clinton and Trump, calling Clinton “one of the best prepared candidates to seek the presidency in many years.” Trump doesn’t get off so easily. He is called a “thin-skinned demagogue who is unqualified and unsuited to be president.” For more info, click right here.
404: Treatment no longer found
Multi resistant bacteria have become more common in today’s medicine. Drugs, such as antibiotics lose their effectiveness in treating infections. In the past couple of years, antibiotics have been seen as the wonder drug, being able to cure anything. This is now presenting problems.
