Sticky sweet Honeypie

It’s halfway through the first half of the semester and if you still haven’t had a slice of cake to reward yourself for all that hard work you’ve done, now is the time. In a patis-series concerning places to eat cake, we obviously couldn’t leave out our well-loved HoneyPie.

HoneyPie is a teahouse located between the Albert Heijn and the Kloveniersdoelen. Their whimsical interior really set them apart from any other café you’ve been to. It’s colorful and a mix and match of vintage trinkets that somehow just seem to work together. The staff is all down to earth and always happy to help you if you have any dietary restrictions.

Whilst their décor could come straight off of Pinterest, it is their cakes that have given them their reputation. They have a daily changing cheesecake, apple pie with speculaas, lemon yogurt cake, and many more. And if that wasn’t enough, they also serve unlimited coffee or tea for only €3,50! Hello endless study sessions…

For those whose sweet tooth got pulled, they also have various bagels and green smoothies. Plus, if you’re not a big fan of sitting in, you can either sit outside on their pond, or take anything on their menu to go, just call in advance!

Still not convinced? Why not let their three course high teas persuade you. A deliciously decadent assortment of sandwiches, scones, cakes, and fresh fruits, accompanied by tea or coffee for €20,-. Make sure to bring parents or a sugar daddy, if you didn’t plan your finances right, because it’s well worth a try.

So are you ready to give in to the hype? Do you dare test out their tarts and leave with a buzzing feeling? Trust me when I say that having a good time is a piece of cake at Honeypie.
